Finding OnlyFans Collabs Through X DMs: What Works and What Wastes Time

X is still the place most collabs begin. It is also the place most collab attempts quietly die, usually in a message request folder nobody checks.

The difference between the two is less about luck than it looks.

What works

Replies before DMs. The collabs that happen on X almost always start in public. You reply to someone's posts for a few weeks, they recognise your name, and by the time you message them it is a continuation rather than an interruption. Skip this step and you are a stranger in their inbox.

One specific message. City, dates, idea. "I'm in Madrid the 3rd to the 6th and would love to shoot something together, I have a space sorted" gets an answer. "Hey love your content, collab?" gets a heart react at best.

Showing you looked. Mention something specific about their work. Not a compliment, a detail. It proves you are not sending the same message to forty people, which is the first thing anyone wonders.

Saying what you bring. A location, a photographer, an audience that overlaps with theirs, an idea that suits both of you. Give them a reason that is not just "we should".

One follow up, then stop. If you hear nothing after a week, one short nudge is fine. After that, let it go. Silence is an answer and chasing it costs you more than it costs them.

What wastes time

Mass DMs. Copying the same message to thirty creators feels productive. The reply rate says otherwise, and people compare notes more than you would think.

Messaging people with DMs closed. Many creators restrict DMs to people they follow, for obvious reasons. If you cannot see an open message button, the message request folder is where your text is going, and that folder is where hope goes to rest.

Long first messages. Nobody wants your full story in message one. Four lines. Save the rest for once they reply.

Chasing follower counts. Messaging only the biggest accounts is the most common mistake on this list. A creator at a similar size, in the same city, who actually replies, is worth ten bigger names who never will.

Negotiating in DMs forever. If you have gone back and forth ten times without a date, the collab is not happening. Suggest a specific day or move on.

The reply maths

Say you send ten well researched, specific messages to creators you have interacted with. A decent outcome is three or four replies and one or two shoots.

Now say you send fifty generic cold DMs. You will probably get fewer replies than the ten, and spend longer sorting them.

Fewer, better messages win almost every time. It feels slower and it is faster.

X is excellent for building relationships and poor at answering the practical questions. Who is actually in this city right now. Who is travelling here next month. Whether that account belongs to a real working creator.
